Our commitment#

Metabytes wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use assistive technologies or who browse in different ways.

This statement applies to the Metabytes website. It explains the standard we work to, what we have done to meet it, the limitations we know about and how to tell us about a barrier.

The standard we work to#

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

Accessibility is part of how we design, build and test every page, not a check added at the end.

What we have done#

The website is built to:

  • use semantic HTML, with a logical heading structure on every page;
  • work with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator on links, buttons and other controls;
  • provide a “Skip to content” link at the top of each page;
  • give interactive controls, such as tabs, menus and accordions, the roles, names and states that assistive technologies need;
  • keep focus inside the mobile menu while it is open and return it when the menu closes;
  • meet colour contrast requirements for text and controls;
  • describe meaningful images and diagrams with text alternatives, and hide purely decorative elements from assistive technologies;
  • reflow to a single column on small screens and remain usable when text is enlarged to 200%; and
  • respect the “reduce motion” setting in your operating system or browser by switching off non-essential animation.

How we test#

We check pages with automated accessibility testing and with manual testing, including keyboard-only navigation, browser zoom and small-screen layouts.

We review accessibility again when we add or substantially change a page.

Known limitations#

Some pages include illustrative diagrams and interface examples that show how an AI system works. Where these carry meaning, we describe them in text; some fine detail inside them is decorative and is not announced by screen readers.

Content provided by third parties, such as external websites we link to, is outside our control and may not meet the same standard.

If you find a part of the website that you cannot use, please tell us so that we can fix it or provide the information in another way.

Compatibility#

The website is designed to work with current versions of major browsers, including Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, on desktop and mobile, and with the assistive technologies commonly used with them.

Older browsers may not display every feature as intended.

Report a barrier or ask for another format#

If you experience a barrier on the website, or you need information in a different format, contact us through the contact page.

To help us respond, please tell us:

  • the web address of the page;
  • what you were trying to do;
  • the problem you encountered; and
  • the browser, device and any assistive technology you were using.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports promptly and to resolve confirmed issues as quickly as we can.

Changes to this statement#

We will review this statement as the website changes and at least once a year.

When we make changes, we will update the Last updated date at the top of the page.
