ANTHROPIC CLAUDE

Claude for enterprise workflows.

Metabytes designs, integrates and evaluates Claude where it fits the workload. It is connected to company knowledge, approved tools and governance, inside an architecture that stays open to other models.

Where it fits

Where Claude fits best.

Claude is often a strong candidate when a workload needs deeper reasoning, long context or reliable tool use. For simpler, high-volume or tightly controlled deployments, another model may be a better fit.

What we build

Build Claude into real business systems.

We do not build isolated model demos. We design the workflow around Claude, connect the right data and tools, add permissions and human controls, then evaluate the complete system before production.

  5. OperateMonitor model versions, cost, latency, quality and exceptions after launch.
Real workloads

See what a Claude workflow actually needs.

A model is only one part of the workflow. Each use case has its own business problem, the context Claude needs, the systems it connects to, the control points and the way the outcome is evaluated.

AGENT WORKFLOW

Customer operations agent

BUSINESS PROBLEMRoutine customer requests often span several systems and still require people to gather account context, apply policy and carry out standard actions manually.
WHY CLAUDEThe workflow requires reasoning across context and multiple tool calls: interpreting the request, deciding what is needed and sequencing approved actions.
WHAT COULD CHANGE THE DECISIONIf the task becomes very high-volume and highly repetitive, a smaller model or deterministic workflow may be more economical.

An agent run in practice: Claude plans, retrieves, calls approved tools and stops for a person before an external action.

Architecture & orchestration

Build around Claude, not into it.

Claude can sit behind a model gateway alongside other providers, while your prompts, tools, context, policies and evaluations stay in your own application layer. That makes it easier to change models, add fallbacks and evolve the system without rebuilding the product around one provider.

We design that separation deliberately, because the architecture around the model usually matters more than the model call itself.

Claude is only one component. We design and implement the layers around it so the complete system can operate safely, change over time and remain measurable.
Data, tools & retrieval

Give Claude the right context and controls.

A useful Claude system needs more than access to data. It needs to retrieve the right information for the user, respect existing permissions, expose only approved tools and validate what happens before sensitive actions are taken.

We engineer those layers so Claude can work with company systems without becoming an uncontrolled route around them.

Retrieve only what is relevantSearch and retrieval narrow company knowledge to the context needed for the current task, rather than pushing entire data stores into the model.
Respect existing permissionsClaude inherits the user’s access boundaries. If the person cannot see a record, the model does not see it either.
Control what the model can doRead-only actions, drafting and external actions carry different permissions, policies and approval requirements.

CANNOT ACCESSHR recordsFinance-only documentsUnassigned customer data
STOP / ESCALATEGood systems are designed around failure states, not just the happy path. The workflow pauses and hands over when:

METABYTES ENGINEERING
Retrieval pipelinesIdentity & permissionsSource rankingTool APIsAction policiesStructured outputsApproval gatesValidationAudit logsEvaluation
The model call is the easy part. The engineering around context, permissions and actions is what determines whether the system is useful and safe in production.
Evaluation

Prove Claude works for the task.

We build evaluation sets from real tasks, expected outcomes and known failure conditions, then test Claude against alternative models before production. After launch, the same suite catches regressions when prompts, tools or model versions change.

The goal is not to prove Claude is best. It is to prove the system is good enough for the job.

Test the real taskPublic benchmarks are useful context, but they do not tell you whether the workflow works inside your business.
Inspect failuresA single score hides too much. We review why the system failed and which layer caused it.
Re-test changesPrompts, retrieval, tools and model versions can all change behaviour, so evaluations become part of the release process.

A new model version is not treated as an automatic upgrade. The same evaluation set runs again before production behaviour changes.
WE EVALUATE THE SYSTEM, NOT JUST THE MODELQuality depends on the whole workflow. A strong model with weak retrieval, loose tool permissions or a missing hand-off still fails in production, so every layer is tested.

Governance & controls

Govern every step of the Claude workflow.

Production governance is not one approval button. Identity, data access, tool permissions, policy rules and human checkpoints should all be enforced throughout the workflow, with every important action retained for review.

We design those controls into the architecture so Claude operates inside existing business rules rather than around them.

Identity firstEvery run is tied to a real user, service or system identity.
Least privilegeClaude only receives the context and tools required for the current task.
Policy before actionHigh-impact actions are checked against business rules before they run.

Deployment options

Choose how Claude enters your stack.

Direct access and cloud-platform routes come with different operational, procurement and control considerations. We select the route around your existing environment, then place the right governance and observability around it.

The model endpoint can change. Your application, policies and operating controls should not have to.

Existing cloud estateIf identity, networking, procurement and monitoring already run on AWS or Google Cloud, a platform route can simplify operational fit.
Direct accessA simpler path when the model does not need to sit inside an existing cloud-platform operating model.
Keep the application portablePrompts, tools, evaluations and business logic stay outside provider-specific integration code wherever practical.

Multi-model strategy

Route each workload to the right model.

Claude may be the best route for some reasoning-heavy or tool-driven workloads, while other tasks are better served by a faster, cheaper, private or differently specialised model. We design the routing logic around the workload, not the provider.

WHY THIS ROUTELong context, multi-step reasoning and tool use point to Claude, with a secondary frontier model on standby.

EXAMPLE“Why was this refund rejected, and what is the next allowed action?”Multi-step reasoning + policy context + account data + tool use → Claude, with a secondary frontier model as fallback.
Claude is selected because the workload justifies it, not because the application was hard-wired to Claude.
WHEN ANOTHER ROUTE MAY WIN

Alternative frontierA workload performs better in evaluation elsewhere.
Open or private modelDeployment control or data location dominates.
Deterministic workflowThe task does not need an LLM at all.
Alternatives are run against the same evaluation set, so a route only changes when the evidence supports it.

Production walkthrough

See the full Claude system in motion.

Claude is only one step in a production workflow. A reliable system identifies the user, retrieves the right context, enforces policy, calls approved tools, handles exceptions and records what happened.

This walkthrough shows the layers Metabytes designs around the model.
